Random.

Writing yesterday’s post got me in the Spring mindset, so during my lunch break errands, I splurged and purchased my favorite Easter treat: the Caramel-Filled Cadbury Egg.

I sat in my car and slowly devoured this chocolate goodness, literally closing my eyes to savor each bite and the peaceful, quiet break away from work. {I know, my love of chocolate is a bit obsessive.}

Also on my lunch break, I solved a marital issue Eugene & I have been facing for a while now. See, we have a queen sized bed, and {as one would assume} queen sized bedding too. Well, Eugene & I apparently didn’t learn the kindergarten golden rule of sharing, and we both continually wake up complaining of having no comforter, only to find it’s piled high on the other person’s side of the bed. We agreed that the answer to marital nighttime bliss would be to get a king sized comforter. I told Eugene, I only wanted to buy a new one if I could get a really good deal on one {since I just bough our current one a few months ago!} I thought it’d be a challenge left unmet since kings are all so much more expensive. But, I’m pleased to say, I scored big…

While it’s not exactly what I’d pick out if I had an unlimited budget, I think with some fun colorful pillows, I can make it work. Plus, the ruffles are a fun & unexpected touch for me. And…drum roll please…I got this King Sized coverlet on clearance for only 20 bucks! I went back today to get the shams which were $7.50 each, so I have less than 35 bucks into it total. Not bad for a king size! Of all places to score this deal, I was surprised to find it at Meijer, one of our grocery stores.

I made a delish meal last night too. We had enchiladas. This recipe is an early one from my blog here. I really like this dish because it’s easy, the only ingredient I usually have to buy is the enchilada sauce, plus we always have plenty left over for lunch or dinner the next day. Yum.

Oh, and it’s raining a ton today – again. Makes for a dreary mood.

Lastly, the verses that I’m really feeling today are:

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

“The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God's help be encouraged." Psalm 69:32 (NLT)

{How’s that for a random post for ya!}

  2. Thanks, Kathy. Good luck! I found the coverlets displayed on some aisle endcaps with other clearance items throughout the store.
