Our Wedding

Eugene & I met in high school thanks to our mutual friend Libby. We went on a semi-blind date to homecoming my senior year, and started dating soon after that. We've been through so much together, and finally in August five years later, Eugene proposed while the dew was still on the grass and the sun was rising at my parents' pond.

A little less than a year later, we were married at the same place we got engaged. The wedding ceremony and reception turned out to be absolutely everything I could imagine. I loved it {so much}! Blessings and wondrous things surrounded so many aspects of our wedding and marriage, and I think back to the beautiful, breath-taking day all the time!

So here are some pictures and details of the big day:

My goal for the wedding was for it to be happy, bright, and have the feel of pretty, summery sunflowers...

The wedding ceremony was next to a pond in the middle of 40 acres of wheat...

And the reception was under a huge tent at my parents' backyard...

I used a rubber stamp to make all my invitations, RSVP cards, and programs....

And my place cards doubled as favors - personalized sunflower seed packets...

Our parents...

Our beautiful bridal party & closest friends...

Our ceremony was my favorite part of it all, so personal and so beautiful...

After almost 6 years of dating, we were beyond happy to finally be married...

We were blessed by an unexpected {wondrous thing} field full of beautiful golden wheat that made a perfect backdrop for some photos...

Our reception was relaxed and a wonderful summer evening with family and friends. The centerpieces were DIY mason jars with daiseys & sunflowers...

And we used tons of white lights and lanters to light up the tent once the sunset...

It was an especially beautiful view from the pond...

It was such an amazingly happy, overflowing with blessings, perfectly wonderful day in my life...
