DIY crunchy baby toy.

The little one loves to crunch plastic cereal bags, her diaper wipe packages, and her red foil balloon {while being supervised carefully, of course.} More recently, she also loves using her index finger to find little screw holes in her toys, point my nostrils {cute, I know}, or loop my necklace on her finger. So I had a few minutes the other morning, and I decided sew her a quick toy in hopes that she’d like it, and being that it was covered in fabric, it’s much safer than the alternatives!

Simple enough – fabric, ribbon, balloon or cereal bag…

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I made my fabric into two hearts. Right sides together, and pin on some pieces of ribbon (mine were around 2.5” long, folded in half.}

I made sure that my pins were on the outside so I didn’t sew over them by accident.

Then I pinned the two heart pieces together…

…sewed them together and left a gap for stuffing…

Flip it right side out, and stuff it. And here’s my stuffing – cereal bag and a foil balloon….

I stuffed my heart full {aww}, and sewed it shut…

And she liked it!

To be honest though, she really liked throwing more than crunching it. {Silly girl!}

Video Friday.

I have some funny videos {or at least they’re funny to me} to share for some Friday laughs.

This one was back around Christmas time. Eugene was reading bedtime stories, and for some reason, the little one just kept making fart noises!

This one’s from just this week. I was making the shocked noise when you breathe in quickly, almost like a backwards sigh, like when a car cuts in front of you {or is that just the noise I make?} I sound really weird on video, but oh well; her laughs are awesome, especially around 10 seconds when she just gets stuck on one sound  and 44 seconds where she does her infamous squeel…

This one is also older, and kind of long, and not very funny,but I want to save it in case she plays volleyball someday. Every time I give the little one her volleyball to play with, she just yells aggressively at it….

This girl’s so much fun!

Lunch date.

The little one and I headed to Eugene's school to meet him for lunch today. Judging by his face, I'd say it was his wondrous thing. {Seeing his smile was my wondrous thing.}

Springy tissue paper flowers.

We had a few really dreary, cold, grey days last week, so I decided to add some faux Spring to my life.

I pinned this tutorial for tissue paper flowers, and this picture is really what I used…

I made my flowers quite a bit smaller than “Rust & Sunshine’s” version, and I made some pink dahlias and roses and white daises.

They turned out pretty cute…

I thought they’d be a cheery compliment to my glass knobs and vases…

Glittified.

I found a crate of light pink vases at Ikea a couple weekends ago, and the vases were marked $0.25. I couldn’t just walk by 25 cent vases; it’d be irresponsible! ;)

So I took ‘em home and glittified ‘em for Valentine’s Day…

IMG_4040

And here’s the super easy process; it involves double sided tape and glitter…

IMG_4036

Yes, it’s as easy as it looks…

IMG_4029

One row down…

And three rows…

IMG_4034

The glitter isn’t permanent, and there’s so many different options with it. So fun!

IMG_4055

I may or may not have gone overboard with project glittify: Ikea vanilla candle with double sided tape and gold glitter…

IMG_4057

I’ll share my tissue paper flower project next. Oh, and that gold candle below is my attempt at mercury glass-ish vase {post here} from a couple years ago.

Are you feelin’ the love {of glitter}? ;)

Growing.

Someone's hair is {barely} long enough to fit in a clip now! Her smile makes my heart so happy. :)
