Button light.

I have this retro, 70s-ish builder’s grade light in the little one’s room. See what I mean?

I’ve not had good luck in this house with installing new lights, not to mention that I really don’t have time to shop for a new light, so I decided I’d buy a few packs of mixed buttons {buy 1 get 1 free} for under five bucks and see where that takes me. I took that gold tip seen to the righ tof the shade below, and I spray painted it pink.

I don’t work well with hot glue…for some reason I just stink at it. It always dries before I want it too, and I get that stringy remnants all over the place. So this time, I decided to go with some fix-all adhesive…

What pretty colorful buttons!

I started at the center and worked my way to the edges…

I placed the buttons really close to each other at the center and as I got closer to the edges I placed them further apart…

And here it is almost done…

And installed again – 70s turned crazy-colorful! {Next to my DIY mobile.}

And stepping back a bit to show the infamous orange road-side changing table

And here it is with the light on…

I revamped the light when Eugene was at baseball practice. When he came home, I took him in the room to show him what I did, and his response was a very low monotone, “Oh…wow….”. I’m not sure he’s feeling the color explosion. ;)

I’ll probably buy a new light sometime, but for now, I think I can work with it…heck, it’s way better than the original 70s version!
