Cleaning stainless steel.

I’ve researched online for tips to clean my stainless steel appliances. I’ve tried water, soap, windex, cooking spray, Pledge furniture spray, and Olive Oil. I’ve yet to use Bar Keeper’s Friend, which I’ve read is the secret weapon, so I’ll hold out on judgment on that one for now.

But I thought I’d share with ya’ll super interested readers poor souls which I’ve found to work the best so far.

And the winner is…

Olive Oil!

Here’s the difference. Looking at this photo, the left side hasn’t been cleaned, and the right side has been wiped down with a paper towel dampened with Olive Oil…

See the difference?

It’s the only thing that touches the water streaks caused by accidental drips from the ice maker.

Oh, and did ya notice my new kitchen rugs? Five bucks at Kohls. Niice.

Another exciting post to add to the list. Oh well, go try the Olive Oil trick and maybe you’ll be thankful you read it today! ;)

P.S. If you’ve tried Bar Keeper’s Friend, let me know how it works. Or if ya have any other stainless steel tips, let me hear ‘em!

  1. I love the result! The olive oil didn’t just clean the fridge’s exterior, it also left the appliance with a smooth and shiny surface! Anyway, have you tried using vinegar? Just spray it on you stainless steel tools and wipe it away with a dry and soft cloth.
